Here are some very important simple machines that you use every day. Their primary benefit is conferring a mechanical advantage that improves our ability to do work. The 2 simple machines that I am going to talk about today are the screw and the lever.

A very important machine is a screw. The screw helps you to put stuff together for example the seat you’re sitting on is made of wood, but screws help put it together. Screws are stronger than nails so they will last longer. Another example is a picture. The pictures in your room are held on to the wall by a screw.

Another important machine is the lever. A lever helps you lift heavy things. Like a seesaw it gives you a mechanical advantage to go higher for play, much higher than you can jump. Another example is the fishing rod it allows you to yank a big, heavy fish out of the ocean. Otherwise we would not have fish to eat.

Those are two simple machines that you use every day.
